WHO WE ARE

I CAN South Sudan is a Community-Based Organization (CBO) registered in the District of Yumbe and working in the Child Protection Sector under the authority of the Prime Minister (OPM) Bidibidi, which aims to engage unaccompanied refugee children in social and musical activities to heal them of trauma. I CAN South Sudan use musical coaching with a focus on community work to develop children's trust and build friendships through the tribal divide that contributed to the civil war in South Sudan. Storytelling and song are vital aspects of the South Sudanese community, so the music curriculum focuses on the preserving of traditional tales, songs and musical practices. I CAN South Sudan is dedicated to the promotion of children's rights in Uganda and South Sudan.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are searching for an experienced Logistics Officer for our Peace Building Project sponsored by Oxfam AIBIS. The Logistics Officer will be responsible for tracking stock levels and the flow of incoming and outgoing products. He/she is detailed-focused and uses computers to maintain inventory databases under their jurisdiction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations
  2. Ensure premises, assets and communication ways are used effectively
  3. Utilize logistics IT to optimize procedures
  4. Recruit and coordinate logistics staff (e.g. truck drivers) according to availabilities and requirements
  5. Supervise orders and arrange stocking of raw materials and equipment to ensure they meet needs
  6. Communicate with suppliers, retailers, customers etc. to achieve profitable deals and mutual satisfaction
  7. Keep logs and records of warehouse stock, executed orders etc.
  8. Prepare accurate reports for upper management

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Proven experience as logistics Officer
  2. Experience in customer service will be appreciated
  3. Knowledge of laws, regulations
  4. Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
  5. Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP)
  6. Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  8. Willingness to stay and work in a remote and challenging refugee settlement
  9. Bachelor Degree/Diploma in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field
